Boy Scouts of America

Support for the Boy Scout movement came at The American Legion's first National Convention in 1919. Today, there are more than 2,500 Boy Scout units sponsored by Legion Posts throughout the country.

Supporting Boy Scout activities is natural for Legionnaires, who bring their service-learned skills and experiences as Veterans to bear to help build character and positive traits in "Young America." Few other Post activities generate more goodwill from the community

BSA Activities

In 1992, Montgomery – Plant – Dudley Post 10 chartered Boy Scouts of America Pack and Troop 400 in Wausau.  And, in 2015, Post 10 chartered a high venture co-ed Crew contingent.  All three units are functioning with great results.

We have had wonderful Scouts, Leaders and parents who have assisted Post 10 with clean up the parking lot and around the building.  Also, the Scouts participate in our flag retirement ceremonies.

The Scout units do have their own storage unit at Tribute Golf Course where they store their trailer and camping equipment.

The Cub Scout Pack meets on Tuesday nights during the school year at Riverview School. During the summer months the Pack is very active with camping, chuck wagon skills day, and other actives.  The Cubmaster is Kevin J. Townshed (414) 750-8011.

The Boy Scout Troop also meets on Tuesday nights during the school year at Riverview School. Their Scoutmaster is Scott Nest (715) 977-2420.

The Crew, which is co-ed and a high venture unit, meets at various times. The Crew Advisor is Brenda Zimmermann-Thorpe (715) 574-1972
